All disappointments aside, I’m actually quite happy how the windows turned out. We still haven’t found a acceptable solution for the wrong-sided sliding door, but that doesn’t take away that the windows drastically changed the look of the house and the view from the house. I hadn’t expected the latter, as the windows didn’t change in size. It seems it makes a huge difference having bulky wooden frames or sleek aluminum ones. I particularly love how the brick wall seems to continually flow from outside to inside, without being cut in half by the sliding door.
Too bad the before pictures were made in sunny spring and our after pictures in moody autumn. The roof sidings still need to be painted too. We will be painting them black as well. Now you can’t really tell how crazy beautiful our new windows are!
