Hello and welcome to my second Before and After post! Today I wanted to show you our remodel of the master bathroom.

Before, the master bathroom had a entrance through the back bedroom. But as we chose a different room as our master bedroom, we moved the door to the other wall. We added about 20 centimeter (about 8 inches) to the width of the bathroom to accommodate a freestanding tub.
I actually thought about repurposing the green emerald tiles. They felt retro hip, something for an Apartment Therapy featured home. But the husband vetoed it. And when we tore down the walls, it soon became clear there was no way saving them anyway. A rain of green shards came down on us!

We splurged on the tiles, with a decor tile behind the tub, a matching ‘plain’ tile for the other walls and matching floor tiles (Quarter/Baltimore by Venis/Porcelanosa) It has a concrete look and feel, with a 3D decor tile looking like a chiseled wall. Then we saved on the rest. But we ended up with a rain shower, heated mirror, double vanity and free standing bath faucet all the same.
When asking for price quotes at bathroom suppliers, they estimated our design to be 10k euros, labor not included. We ended up paying less then 10 k, labor included! What a little googling and a lot of haggling can bring…

Before, I was more a shower person than a bath soaking girl. Now, I am both.
xoxo – Irene.
Very nice Irene! I’m glad to see everything’s coming together.
